TE Veterans Day and Kristallnacht Memorial Service and Program

7:00PM - 8:30PM

Temple Emanuel 1129 Jefferson Road
GREENSBORO, NC 27410

This year will be the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI and the 80th anniversary of Kristallnacht. Join us and our friends from Beth David for a brief ceremony and commemoration of both of these highly significant events. After this commemoration, there will be a presentation by our own Judi Magier.

Judi is the daughter of Holocaust survivors. Recently, she traveled to Poland to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the destruction of the Jewish ghettos in Southwest Poland, where her family originated since the mid 1880’s.

She traveled to a memorial, which was the last place her grandparents stood before their final transport to Auschwitz. The trip was a mission of remembrance, with more than 200 proud descendants from all over the world.

Sponsored by the World Jewish Congress and Israel-based Zaglembie World Organization, Judi will tell us about this most-moving trip, with pictures from the trip. She will share her father’s story of his town in Bendzin, Poland and the vibrant Jewish life that will always be part of that town’s history. For Judi, this was an extremely personal journey of a lifetime, that helped make the past seem more real. Join us to remember these important historical events.

The service and presentation will take place on November 11, at 7:00 p.m.
