Lunch and Learn will feature Dr. Kobi Sosna, the chair of Radiology at Hadassah Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem (and cousin of our member, Julie Wanderman). Cousin of Shelly Weiner.

Dr. Jacob (Kobi) Sosna was born in Poland to Holocaust survivors. He earned his MD from the Sackler Faculty of Medicine of Tel Aviv University. He completed his residency in Radiology at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel in 2001. He traveled to Boston to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Harvard Medical School, for a Research and Clinical Fellowships in Abdominal Imaging and Advanced Cross-Sectional Imaging. In 2011, Dr. Sosna became Chairman of Radiology at Hadassah Hebrew University Medical Centre and in 2016 the Director of the Imaging and Nuclear Medicine Division. He serves as full professor and Vice Dean of the Hebrew University – Hadassah Faculty of Medicine. He served as President of the Israeli Radiological Association between 2011-2020. Dr. Sosna is currently the treasurer of the Israeli Academy of Medical Sciences. Dr. Sosna’s research focuses on advancing clinical applications in cutting-edge technology with a special interest in AI in collaboration with experts in the US and Europe. In the past, he served in the Gaza Strip as chief medical officer of the IDF Gaza Brigade. He has been involved in treating wounded soldiers and civilians in the war that started on October 7, 2023. Besides his professional activities, Kobi is an avid clarinet and saxophone player and composes klezmer-style music.
