Judith Cushman Hammer hosts a discussion of Edmund de Waal’s book, The Hare with the Amber Eyes, a family memoir written by an English ceramicist. He inherits a collection of small carved objects and through this collection traces the story of his family —a 19th century Jewish banking dynasty in Paris and Vienna.
