Dr. Zev Kalifon presents his work on those groups (Ultra-orthodox Sephardi Jews in Israel and Mormon splinter groups in the USA) who want to restore (renew) polygamy and the backlash against them. In spite of growing tolerance for alternative forms of marriage and lifestyles, the opposition to polygamy remains strong. It is the social custom that everyone (liberal and conservative) loves to hate. Dr. Kalifon, a professor at Bar Ilan University, grew up in Greensboro where his father, Edward Kalfon, z”l, was Education Director in the 1960’s- early 1970’s.
