MAKING A DIFFERENCE
AROUND THE WORLD.

At the Greensboro Jewish Federation, part of our mission is to promote the welfare of the Jewish people in our community, in Israel and worldwide. Our connections with Israel and Jewish communities around the world include serving as an educational resource, advocating for Israel, and facilitating travel for local Jewish members abroad—to learn, teach, and inspire.

Through partner agencies, Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA), The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), Greensboro stands strong as a Jewish community nationally and touches Jewish lives around the globe.

ISRAEL SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS

The Greensboro Jewish Federation believes that Israel experiences are one of the best ways to strengthen Jewish identity and create deeper connections to the global Jewish community. We aim to make Israel experiences available and accessible to teens and young adults. Grants and scholarships provided by the Federation and Jewish Family Services help teens and young adults afford life-changing Israel adventures. We encourage Greensboro teens and young adults to experience all that Israel has to offer.

ISRAEL TODAY

GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP
WITH BELTSY, MOLDOVA

Reconnecting Jews to their heritage was a cornerstone of the Federation’s partnership with our sister city, Beltsy, Moldova. This commitment helped rebuild Jewish life through moral, material, and educational support. Over the years, more than 150 members of the Greensboro Jewish community traveled to Moldova, making a lasting impact on Beltsy—and on their own lives.

Since 2000, The Beltsy Partnership has:

  • Built a Jewish Community Center
  • Published the book One People One Heart: The Greensboro Beltsy Connection
  • Helped fund the restoration and preservation of the Beltsy Jewish cemetery
  • Participated in numerous other humanitarian projects
  • Sent a Jewish educator or rabbi annually with the Federation delegation offering the opportunity for Jewish life cycle events to ensure that they have the choice to engage in Jewish education and celebration.
  • Participated in dental and medical missions
  • Helped plant the seed for a viable, self-sufficient Jewish community and, helped educate tomorrow’s leaders both in Greensboro and in the FSU.
  • Offered local Jewish teens and adults opportunities to serve overseas as Madrichim (counselors) at the Annual Jewish Summer Camp Delet
