The Early Childhood Engagement Center (ECEC) at Temple Emanuel is looking for an Interim Director for the 2021-22 school year. We are searching for a warm and dedicated individual to supervise and provide guidance for our excellent teachers, be another set of hands when they are needed, and create a welcoming and safe environment for families and students. We believe that pre-school should be an adventure in learning, and our program is inspired by the early childhood program of Reggio Emilia, Italy. We strive to help children develop confidence, independence and a connection to the Jewish world.
The Interim Director, under the supervision of Temple Emanuel’s Senior Rabbi, should share in the Temple’s commitment to strengthen Jewish identity, celebrate Jewish culture, and build an inclusive community. The candidate ideally should have or be working toward a degree in Early Childhood Education or similar field.
The hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (school runs from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) Responsibilities include: communicating with families, managing schedules, supervising teaching staff, implementing COVID protocols, ordering supplies, billing and collecting tuition. Note that the interim position has the potential to turn into a long-term position after the first year.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Preferred and 0-2 years of experience.
