Jewish Federations of North America mourn the passing of former U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey – a lifetime public servant, the first female House appropriations chair, and a staunch advocate for the Jewish people and a strong US-Israel relationship.
  
As she said on many occasions, Nita was guided by the Jewish core value of ‘Tikkun Olam,’ repairing the world. Jewish Federations are forever grateful to have had her fighting for the Jewish community each day for 32 years. May her memory be a blessing, and may her family find comfort knowing she helped millions during her lifetime.
