Ellen Gefen Receives American Heritage Award from ADL

Ellen Gefen, President, Gefen Co., Inc. was recently awarded the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) American Heritage Award, which was established to honor leaders in the business and professional world that in their careers and communities personify the ideals of the nation and the spirit of the ADL and serve as shining examples to others for their leadership, dedication and energy.

The work of ADL is important to Gefen, who noted that the Saturday before she was honored with the ADL American Heritage Award, she found an award from ADL that her father had received in 1956. Gefen, who has always possessed a strong desire to give back to her community, has been involved with the ADL for many years, as well as other nonprofit organizations, such as Piedmont Triad Leadership Network and City of Hope.

ADL is a global organization that works tirelessly to fight anti-Semitism, combat hate and protect communities, confront discrimination and secure justice, stand up for Israel and promote respectful schools and communities.

Gefen was also recently awarded the WOW Legacy Award presented by Women in the Home and Furnishings Industry Today (WithIt.) The Legacy Award is the highest award one can receive from WithIt. This is granted to a woman whose career has contributed significantly to enriching the home and furnishings industry.

Over 35 years ago, Gefen began a television series, Home Fashion Report that revolutionized the home fashion and furnishings marketing strategies. This series began as a platform to share new trends with retailers. She has also received numerous awards for achievement in the field of video and film production.
