Update from our Delegation on the Ground in Moldova!

July 9th
As the families arrive at Camp Delet this morning for Shabbat with their children, the Greensboro Team is faced with mixed emotions. We are happy to meet the parents of the campers we have grown to love, but sad knowing that soon we will be saying goodbye to our new found friends.
To say the teen team from Greensboro has been amazing is an understatement ... each delegate has taken on responsibilities in assigned areas and more ... stepping in where needed and understanding fully the difference their presence is making in the lives of the youth from Beltsy. Through meetings with the JDC, we have learned that the Moldovan government is currently in transition which presents new challenges for the local Jewish community, enhancing the importance of Greensboro's continued support of our fellow Jews here in Moldova.  Today at lunch the Beltsy kids will " show off" their expertise as they sing the Birkat Hamazon by themselves and tonight they look forward to performing the American Dance routine they have rehearsed all week for their families. Tomorrow, five of them will be called to the Torah and proudly accept the responsibility of becoming a Jewish adult.  Greensboro will also share in the celebration knowing that without us this moment could not happen.
